Introduction[edit]

The year is 2306, and the war is finished. After the devastation of Mercury, it's inhabitants have moved to a planet in a new solar system, Arrento. With two years of conflicts, the Mercurian Empire could finally settle on a new world, and think again about their past, for witch they were not proud of. At the end of the First Solar War, only five million mercurian citizens had survived, preparing themselves for the next war...

Every leader wants to fight, but, as the opponent can be stonger, they send the military. Every losses are caused by the leader, even if he denies the responsability...


History[edit]

Independence[edit]

In 2304, the venusian free-space cartel colonised Mercury. It was supposed to be a mining colony, Mercury having large gold and iron deposits. The Mercurian Mining Colony was founded. Massive ammount of population were moved to the planet, and an independence movement was formed. After a year, the mercurians requested independence. It was granted, but at a price...

War[edit]

In months, shipyards were constructed and civilian ships refitted in order to have a massive strike force. When SDLSE blockaded Earth, the mercurian fleet quickly came to help, in order to secure a part of Earth and all of it's resources. In the following weeks, an other government took control and ordered the fleet to attack the blockade. After much politic debates, and the help of the KBF, oli_chose123 regained control and, even with the outraged nations of SDLSE and FedEx who didn't like the sudden change of side, secured a base in north america. Mercurian scientists developed secret technologies that needed to be shipped out of the planet, and this was impossible with FedEx blocking the way. To achieve that, the president had to jump out using a one use technology that permitted FTL travel.

Old Times[edit]

After getting back home, the president decided to change his nation. One of the first thing to do was to secure complete control over it. The government type became a kind of fascism control were people and military are the first priorities. The succeeded. oli_chose123 was now the leader of the newly formed mercurian empire until his death, still, the people liked him.

Sol War I[edit]

E.T.s[edit]

This part of the timeline can be considered as a new age, and, for others, as a dark one. At the end of 2305, aliens settled on Uranus and Pluto. SDLSE and ME(Mercurian Empire) saw that as an aggression and declared war. After discussions, and an invasion from the ECPS, ME changed their mind and allied with the UFMP. On Mercury, a free movement was rebelling against the current government, and a civil war started. Even with RRC and UFMP troops, the war was already lost for oli_chose123. The ECPS bombarded the planet shortly after, killing everyone but 5 million civilians and soldiers.

The UFMP and the ECPS are the same alien race. The UFMP fled from the ECPS dictatorship. The ECPS actually wants to destroy every civilisation which isn't in their coalition.

M2[edit]

From the tallest building to the subtle mercurian art, everything was destroyed. Colonisation was necessary. With the use of a new kind of propulsion stolen from the ECPS, a colony ship left the Sol System to Arrento, a newly discovered system. The first city is nearing completion right now. The actual project is to construct 12 cities, all in different strategic places around the globe. At the moment, 3.4 million people have landed on the planet.

The RRC Incident[edit]

The battle always find its way home. Only the fools aren't prepared... After its leader left with a colony ship, the Rhea Research Corps decided that a change of government was in order. The prime minister of the nation took control, and declared war to the UFMP. In order to maintain peace with the ex-leader of the RRC, the mercurian empire sent 5 cruisers to SOL to protect the outcasts that were working with the ex RRC leader, Xianus. These outcasts were the key for the control of the Saturn Sector, and the empire was in need of ore.

Mercurian life[edit]

I lead you[edit]

"The best way to govern the people is for a single leader to control it, while having others checking if he behaves correctly", William Stevenson Brahams, 2231. These words were a base for the actual ME government. The president has complete control over everything, but do the most for his people. The population loves him, because, anyway they know he won't give away his post, and in the meantime, he's doing what he can for them.

Business as always[edit]

The new mercurian capital, called Arrento City, now count 4.5 million people, each installed on different sized buildings. Even with the devastations of war, the wealthy try to be wealthier by using the poors, resulting in the city being divided. The average pay of a citizen is of 765,000 Mercurian Credits, and statistics indicate that at least 400,000 credits is needed for basic needs. The tax rate is of 23%. Three planetary companies survived the war: Mercury Shipyards, specialists in ship construction, IMN, Inter Mercurian Network, News service and high-speed 23 terrabyte connection, and Nano Work, building specialists using nanotechnology to build houses and skyscrapers.

At Ease Soldier[edit]

Caused by a great flow of xenophobia, military service is obligatory. at the age of 18, every two years, you must be posted at the nearest military base to receive training and to help the military developpement with your knowledge. Even if considered too early by some people, the president thinks that maintaining a strong military presence in the system will help keep the peace. The mercurian military now count 100,000 soldiers, 1000 ground vehicules(including aircrafts), 30 space fighters, 5 Resolution Class Frigates and 8 Federation Class Cruisers.

Ships:

Shortly after declaring independence, MMC(Mercurian Mining Colony) quickly started production of cheap corvette and frigate class ships. Produced in the hundreds, these 3 manned ships were only able to substain 2 to 3 hits, but were a good strike force.

The cruiser MK1 was the first Mercurian military ship to be light-speed capable, technology widely used on other nation's ships. These ships were equipped with space to ground weapons, and had flak defence. They were produced in an attempt to invade venus in time of war, in vain. Most of these ships were destroyed, and the few that survived were refitted to serve as cargo ships.

Troops:

Not much to say on this. It's the average strike force, with rifles, anti-vehicule weapons, air support, artillery, motorized divisions, etc. They mostly use lasers, kinetic weapons and missiles. At least 1 million soldiers were in service in 2305, backed by 5000 heavy vehicules, 8000 light vehicules and transports, 3000 aircrafts. Don't bother us, we'll bother you!

Ships:

For the start of a new year, Mercurian engineers designed the dream of all military, The Aurora Light Cruiser and the Kingdom Battlecarrier. These massives ships were fitted with all new neutron/photon laser emmiters, sub-light and light engines, inertial dampeners and rotational gravity hub. 7 Aurora and 4 Kingdom were constructed in orbit of mercury.


The first Cruiser to be able to land on planets with deployed wings was built in the Arrento system, new home of ME and ex-RRC. The first Resolution class light cruiser was launched on 04.18 and jumped to SOL with it's new jumpdrive, hoping to find the remaining of the ME fleet in the system, and give a hand to the ex-RRC gouvernemnt

With the ECPS war going on, Mercurian scientists got into a new research area: Shields. After several months, 3 prototype force field emmiters were installed on 3 Aurora Class. 2 of them were destroyed in the war, plus an other on a pluto survey. All but one Kingdom ship were hunted down during the Earth Battle. Every ships are now equipped with this device that can absorb considerable ammount of firepower.

Troops:

If you want the job done, do it yourself, or send the rangers! They're not many, but they pack quite a punch. Except for the addition to stun settings on laser weapons, their armament didn't evolve much. at least, the colony ships brang to Arrento some vehicules to cover their six.

Arrento[edit]

New home of the Mercurian Empire. The exact distance from SOL is unknown(New info!:49.6 light years). Arrento II(mercurea) is slightly smaller than Earth, giving it 0.943G in gravity. The atmosphere is nearly identical to Earth's. Because of interferences from Arrento III, a gas giant, we couldn't have our ships scan and map the planet. We don't know the number and the size of the continents, but aircrafts are scouting the area every day.

Arrento II has now been renamed Mercurea, and is the new homeworld of the Arrento Federation, formed by RRC and ME. more to come!

Technology[edit]

500 years ago, the black powder was discovered. 100 years later, Electricity was used in houses. Another 100 years and computers were invading our homes. with the constant acceleration of discoveries, new technologies are created every day, but one must understand how they work.

Ship systems[edit]

What's a ship without it's crew? well, it's a lot of high tech stuff that cost billions of credits. From the gravity plating to the Beam drive, here's a list of tech and a small defenition.

  • Gravity Plating: These things on the ground use neutron accelerations to immitate a large mass over a small area, thus creating a standard 1.0G environment. Settings can be modified.
  • Simulation Decks: These rooms are equipped with emmiters that generate false matter(mostly carbon) and control it to generate human forms, deck layout, pictures, etc. Used for simulations or amusements.
  • Lasers: In rifles or on ship's hulls, these deadly emmiters do not pack the punch of kinetic weapons, but are accurate and... hot. Slower settings will knock down the victim, but higher levels will melt your opponent.
  • Shields: After 3 second of battles, the first mercurian ship found out that couter-mesures were of no use against the deadly beam of the laser. They needed to find a way to block, if not reflect energy. This gave the new Force Shield Emmiter. This shield uses almost all of the ship's energy, as it can only navigate with RCS thrusters. It only blocks energy, and also prevent the user from fireing lasers or other energy based weapons(fire missiles only if you've got spare batteries).
  • Sub-Light Drive: They accelerate at 10 km/s, and are neutron based.
  • Light Drive: Who's the stupid who said that nothing could go as fast as light? These things will accelerate you in one minute to a maximum speed of 340,876km/s. You just need to have time to decelerate.
  • Beam Drive: Thanks to the RRC President who found this marvel on a derelict ship, we can now make inter-system travels. We know the drive is tachyon based, thus permitting extreme speed.
  • Thermonuclear Devices: It's always easier to destroy something than to build it. Ranging from 1 to 100 megatons, these devices are still widely used, and do not emmit as much radiations as her old syster does. The problem is they are easily detected by active sensors, and stealth missions are impossible with them.
  • JumpDrive: This is now the engine used by all ME ships. The engine reverse the mass of a ship to -1, and then create a mass outside the ship. The negative mass is pulled toward the positive one.The whole effect act like a railgun, propelling the ship at extremely high speeds. The problem is that the drive must stay online during the travel to be sure to stop at the right time. Negative mass tends to turn electrons into positrons, so prolonged use would turn the crew into antimatter. It's no big deal, except if the crew wants to get back home one day. it is recommended that the body should not be exposed more than 2 days, thus explaining the 3 jumps needed to get to SOL.

The soldier's kit[edit]

  • T-995 Laser Rifle: That steady green beam will cut trough walls and people. Use it at your own risks.
  • R-21 AT Rifle: With 11mm rounds, this portable SMG can and WILL get trough most armors, but only if you get the first shot.
  • M94 Hand grenade: Firework are of no use with these new toys. With different settings from stun to frag, including high yield charges, the best friend of the ground troop will be of use on the battlefield.
  • Body Armor: Positive neutrons have an effect on lasers, so production of "anti-melting" armors was a big moral boost in the ranks.

At home[edit]

  • Personal Computer: The most powerful computer on the store have the following stats:
    • 1024 Terabytes of HRAM(Holographic Random Access Memory)
    • 90000 Terabytes of HHD Space
    • Holo Video card
    • Holographic screen with equipped 3D emmiters
  • Replicators: At the brink of matter modification technology, basic nutrients can be replicated by modifying carbon and other matter's atoms. This device will create some basic food for your recipies. Military: This technology is also used in weapon replication, and ship construction.
