Revision as of 19:26, 7 August 2006
Featured addons are high-quality addons recommended by several people. The idea is to improve visibility for these addons, and thus motivate addon developers to create more.
Currently there is not much competition to become a featured addon, so if OrbiterWiki runs out of new featured addons, previous featured addons will be reused. This also means that it's not really that hard to get your addon to become a featured addon!
Current nominations
If you think a particular addon is worthy of being a featured addon, please write up a short "featured description" and add it to the addon page. For example, DeltaGliderIII's description is located at DeltaGliderIII/Featured. Then ensure the addon description page is of an acceptable quality and add the addon to the list below.
- Ariane 5 (featured description), nominated by Urwumpe
- Agree --RaMan 13:36, 5 August 2006 (MSD)
- OMB (featured description), nominated by BadWulf
- Looks like a joke more than a real MFD, suggest to wait until no other addons are nominated. --RaMan 13:36, 5 August 2006 (MSD)
- Actually it is as well a joke as a real existing addon. I think its nomination is a good choice, but the article about it might need some more additions... eg, what beverages are available or how it works. After all, this addon shows another facet of orbiters addon community.--Urwumpe 00:20, 6 August 2006 (MSD)
- OK I'll put it back in the list then, after Ariane to allow some time for editing. --RaMan 14:48, 6 August 2006 (MSD)
- Yes, it's a joke. It is a real addon, but I simply used the DGIII text and replaced key words. Point being, a totally ridiculous addon can get featured status when there is a poor selection and a worse contributor ratio. Can't we just have random addons rather than 'featured'?--BadWolf 02:49, 7 August 2006 (MSD)
- Well, you let the ghost out of the bottle, now lets avoid having the next fun addon article for week 34. We have many serious addon articles which only would need some minor touch up to have a good quality. So its not impossible. Also we have many addons for orbiter, which not always have been represented in OrbiterWiki, eg the whole francophone mess.--Urwumpe 23:26, 7 August 2006 (MSD)
