AutoFCS is an extension for Orbiter, which allows precise reentries with winged vehicles.


Installation[edit]

In order to use AutoFCS with Orbiter 2006, some editing of the configuration files must be done, as follows (credit to dtinc155):

First off, you need to modify the Earth.cfg in the main config folder. The Surfbase section needs to read like this:

Then MOVE the canaveral.cfg and edwards.cfg from the \config\earth\base directory to the main config directory.

Third modify both the Canaveral.cfg and the Edwards.cfg file so that the LOCATION line is commented out. (Location is now set by the earth.cfg file) Like so:

And Lastly, the default Edwards base has no runways, so you have to add them to the config file. The concrete ones from Slat's addon uses default textures. Also if you have the file "STSewards.msh" in your 2005 install, go ahead and drop it into the mesh directory of 2006. If not, just delete those lines in what follows. This is my Edwards.cfg for 2006. This is the complete base minus surftiles.

KSC is all set already, so you don't have to bother with it except for disabling the LOCATION line. After you do this just install AutoFCS as normal if you haven't already.
