Orbiter-Forum IRC[edit]

The #Orbiter-Forum channel is the official Orbiter-Forum chat room for the Orbiter Space Flight Simulator. If you don't know how to use IRC and do not have a client for connecting, then you may use our java based web application located at the link below:

http://www.orbiter-forum.com/chatbox.php

In order to connect you simply visit that link and allow the java script permission to run. You must be a member of Orbiter-Forum to use the java based web application linked above. When you connect to the chat, your forum username will automatically be used.

If you do not have a forum account or for those familiar with IRC using another client, then you may connect with the details below:

Connection Details[edit]

Server: irc.systemnet.info

Port: 6667

Channel: #orbiter-forum

Operators[edit]

The channel is operated by the Orbiter-Forum staff, for a list of staff see this page: http://www.orbiter-forum.com/showgroups.php

Channel Rules[edit]

Rules for the #Orbiter-Forum channel

O-F rules apply in the IRC channel with the following adjustments:

  1. Discussion of moderator/operator action is strictly prohibited.
  2. Multiple accounts: You are permitted to have a maximum of two accounts connect to the IRC channel.
  3. Vulgarities and obscenities are allowed, however excessive swearing is frowned upon.
  4. Graphic images/videos are permitted however you are required to define this by including "NSFW" (Not Safe For Work) prior to the link.
  5. Flooding and Spamming #Orbiter-Forum is not allowed and a swift penalty will be applied.
  6. Coloured text is not permitted.
  7. Do not impersonate O-F/#Orbiter-Forum IRC members.
  8. You must also abide by the SystemNet rules (http://www.systemnet.info/netrules.html)

Infractions can be incurred on O-F if you break O-F/IRC rules. A Ban on the Forum will result in a ban on IRC!

Guidance on IRC ettiquette[edit]

   * Due to the small number of members, conversation on the channel will at times be non existent.
   * Do not TYPE IN UPPERCASE as this is considered shouting.
   * When requesting help for a technical question, please wait for a response.
   * #Orbiter-Forum is an informal chat. There will, more often than not, be conversations not relating to Orbiter.
   * Changing your nickname is disruptive and makes it difficult for other users to follow conversations.
   * If you are unsure of the rules, think would you post it on the forum. If not, don't post it on the channel.
   * Bots are strongly discouraged.
