Located in the White Sea is a Russian submarine-launched ballistic missile launch area, located at 69.5N, 34.2E. It's indicated as "Barents Sea" on the default Orbiter installation.

The White Sea is a southern inlet of the Barents Sea, connected to it by a narrow straight called "gorlo" in Russian, which made it almost impossible for western submarines to observe the SLBM launches. The major port of Arkhangelsk is located on the White Sea.
