Versions[edit]

This page discusses the 2nd Edition of GPIS, intended for Orbiter 2006. Orbiter 2010 is currently the latest available, and is itself years old. Currently (2016) sources on the web refer to Orbiter as a usable resource for understanding orbital dynamics, which implies it may still be useful on a modern PC. I haven't yet determined (but this may be common knowledge on the Orbiter forum!!) its compatibility with Windows 10, nor the compatibility of GPIS 2(with some additions) with the 2010 version mentioned here. So, until someone adds content describing these issues, you should consider the information presented here of questionable value.

On my Win10 PC, many of the pop-up windows in Orbiter lack the standard upper-right hand corner X button (or at least its image) which, if clicked, closes the window. While the image is missing, clicking on the upper right hand corner will, in most cases close the window. I don't know if this is a compatibility issue, or what.
