Hail Probe is the oldest Orbiter meme.

Serface Bace

A bace on the serface of the Moon is a meme that quickly went viral on the 17th of August 2011. It was caused by the accidental miss spelling of the words 'base' and 'surface' as 'bace' and 'serface' in the addon: Moon Airbace for the default Kennedy Space Center Space Shuttle landing runway copied and then put somewhere onto the surface of the Moon, was uploaded onto Orbit Hangar Mods. Many users responded with related misspellings of the word 'bace' and 'serface' over the next few days before the thread was finally pushed back onto the original addon support topic.

The meme was put back into the spotlight again four days later when a better looking airfield addon: Large Airfield_KATL was released onto Orbit Hangar Mods. A user posted the quote "Now this is an airbace!" and the meme was brought to the attention of Orbiter-Forum again.

The meme was brought back to attention again in a different way nearly a month later when the original author of the Moon Airbace addon uploaded Habana spaceport upgrade v1 onto Orbit Hangar Mods. The users who commented gave praise to the uploader for creating a better addon than the Moon Airbace.

The word 'serface' is less prominent today as opposed to the word 'bace', which became more popular after a user posted the quote; "All your bace are belong to us", which parodies another meme for translation errors in the Sega video game: Zero Wing.

As of November 2011, the meme has mostly faded away on Orbiter-Forum although it is still quite prominent on the ChatBox.

Soundstage on Mars

The soundstage on Mars is one of the lesser known memes, every so often on Orbiter-Forum, a thread pops up challenging the genuinity of the Apollo Program. These threads are nearly always dismissed as stupid or a poor attempt at trolling.

The meme was created when a user posted a joke remark, pretending to be in favour of the Apollo hoax believer: "No, the Apollo Program was filmed in a soundstage on Mars". In these types of threads ever since, you can easily find at least one user who posts a copy or similar copy to this remark. Alterations can include, for example; "It was a soundtage on Venus!".

Furry Dice or Furry Dicez as an alternative, is a meme centered around the option to enable hanging pink dice in the XR2 Ravenstar's virtual cockpit.
